 The Aided College Teachers’ Association (ACTA) has been established first at Tiruchirappalli the Rock Fort City and registered in the year 1995. Then the new units have been formed at Thanjavur Chennai Erode Coimbatore and Vellore Zones. The ACTA has been established and expanded based on certain organizational factors experienced in common by all these newly formed units. All these newly formed units have earlier experienced and have been affected by the stifling of the democratic voices the differential treatment of members and issues the curtailment of the individual rights of members and above all the manipulation of electoral politics. The founding leaders of ACTA have taken all precautionary steps to ensure a better democratic framework in the newly formed Association so that all those negative factors do not find a place in the ACTA. A careful analysis of the Bye-Laws of ACTA will prove the presence of this democratic framework of the Association.
