 A close friend of the A.M.Murugappa Chettiar Sir Ivan Stedeford was instrumental in starting the TI factory and TII complex in India. As a mark of respect to this illustrious entrepreneur the new Hospital to be run by the Trust was named after Sir Ivan Stedeford. The opening of the Sir Ivan Stedeford Hospital in 1966 on the Avadi - Ambattur Trunk Road marked a significant milestone in the history of the AMM Charities Trust (currently known as AMM Foundation). Located in Ambattur Chennai this modern multi-speciality hospital has been serving 450000 patients a year. It performs nearly 5000 surgeries every year and it makes available specialist services. The hospital also has fully equipped intensive care unit (ICU) Neonatal Intensive care Unit (NICU) and is always well prepared to handle emergencies. The hospital also has 10 ultra modern Dialysis machines to cater to the needs of Patients with kidney disease. Professional management meticulous maintenance of patients’ records and emphasis on staff training are some of the unique features of this hospital.
